(September 6, 2019)—Battery Streak, with its rapid-charge technology, has been selected to compete in Phase 3 of the U.S. Army xTechSearch’s 4-phase technology pitch competition at the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting, October 14-16 in Washington, D.C. Battery Streak has already advanced through Phases 1 and 2.
The Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology, sponsors the xTechSearch 3.0 Competition to highlight opportunities for small businesses to collaborate with the Army to tackle the most critical Army modernization challenges.
“Soldiers rely more and more on portable electronic devices. They need those devices to charge fast and stay charged using lightweight power sources,” says Prashanth Jampani, Battery Streak product manager. “At the competition, we will present Battery Streak’s fast-charging technology and discuss its potential commercial, military and government applications,”
Twenty-five innovators will be competing in Phase 3. Up to 12 of those competitors will move on to Phase 4, vying for a $250,000 first place prize.
Battery Streak technology, which involves replacing traditional electrodes in standard lithium batteries with Battery Streak proprietary materials, has the potential to dramatically reduce (<10 minutes) charge times in a variety of applications including smart watches, cell phones, lifestyle monitors, laptops, hearing aids, medical devices, power tools, warehouse robots, industrial tablets and electric vehicles.
